Along with the development of Waldorf education in China, the need for professional educators and teachers is increasing day by day. Therefore, a series of Waldorf Training Programs (in China and Germany) have emerged. These programs apply to professional (Waldorf) teachers, those who want to work as teachers in Waldorf schools, parents who want to know their children better and raise them in a Waldorf way, outdoor enthusiasts with pedagogical ambitions and those who are interested in Waldorf education and willing to learn more about it.

Besides his license as an outdoor education trainer, Matthias is also a certified rock climbing trainer (DAV –German Alps Association), a certified ropes course trainer, a tour guide for canoeing and kayaking, and a member of the German Experiential Education Association.

The training programs consist of different modules where you learn basic Waldorf educational concepts, both for professional teachers and as parenting advisory; an introduction into the philosophical backbone behind Waldorf education, anthroposophy, have outdoor training and develop practical teaching skills.

A curricula can be structured similarly to the following example:

I.

Art of Teaching and Learning

Foundation studies in basic anthroposophy and Waldorf pedagogy;
Lectures on the development stages, sense development;
Experiencing the philosophical principles through arts (form drawing, eurhythmy, nature & art, games & exercises).

II.

School Teachers’ Curricula

Practical curriculum applications – early childhood, elementary and grades 1-8 with collaborative options available;
In-depth study of how the Waldorf curriculum meets the child’s cognitive, emotional, and moral needs;
Professional seminars to reflect on direct school experiences, practice, and other aspects of the program;
Artistic courses which develop creative capacities for application in the art of teaching and personal development.

III.

Experience Outdoor Activities (Elementary)

Establishment of a safe environment for healthy social rhythm; 
Exploring the natural environment as a tool for learning and experiencing (children’s sense development, age-appropriate games);
Experiencing and training of outdoor hard skills (starting campfires, camping, land art, ropes courses, hiking, day and nighttime orienteering);
Establishing the love for nature in a child

IV.

Applying Waldorf & Outdoor Activities (Advanced / Specialized)

Experiencing specific outdoor activities for outdoor practical teaching and guidance to children, e.g. outdoor games & arts & movement, wood crafting, archery, Waldorf inspired handicrafts in a natural environment outdoors, in the form of intensive workshops.

V.

Safeguarding Healthy Development

Lecture on the anthroposophic view on the human being; 
Introduction to prerequisites for human health and balanced growth and development; 
Applying these principles to situations of emergencies, irregularities, sicknesses and life supporting measures (first aid in a natural environment, importance of nutrition and rhythm, repetition, safe social settings, inspiration, establishment of life-long love for learning through curiosity).
